| Dear Lynne
I am writing this letter to express my gratitude for your
program “Kid Talk”, and how highly I would recommend it to
anyone who has a child with special needs. My son David is 8, and was
diagnosed with Echolalia and Autism when he was four years old. David
has been exposed to many wonderful opportunities to help with his diagnosis,
but participation in your sessions have resulted in the most pronounced
changes in his behavior that I have seen to date.
The classes have helped David engage in more appropriate
behavior, helped him with his self confidence, taught him how to engage
other children in conversation in addition to providing him with an opportunity
to learn from other children with similar disabilities. Every week David
looks forward to his sessions with your group. At no time has he become
board and lost interest in participating in the learning process. The
therapists at your facility have taken probably the most difficult of
all situations that children with Autism face-socially inappropriate behavior-and
found a way to address it in such manner that it is not only successful
but fun for kids. I was so impressed the first time I stepped into your
offices and all I could hear was the sound of children from different
rooms laughing and having a great time. Your group has proven learning
can be fun.
In addition to the social skills David has taken away from
his sessions, he has made a friend in the group. David’s friend
and his family told us about Challenger Baseball so David now has a friend
to share Baseball games with on the weekends. What an added bonus he’s
received from the class.
We will never be able to express how grateful we are for
your group and what you have done for our son. It is a special gift that
you share with us, in my opinion, and I can only hope that we will be
able to continue participation in it as long as it is available.
Keep up the great work!
Sincerely,
Kathleen Morones
